Week 22

Week
Updates
  1.  Maternity Clothes:  A mix...still thankfully can squeeze into some of my bathing suits.  Key word being "squeeze".
  2. Stretch Marks:  No.
  3. Sleep: Weird dreams this week...
  4. Miss Anything?:Bending down comfortably to tie my sneakers...
  5. Movement: When I am just getting ready for bed is when I feel baby Joseph's kicks the most!
  6. Food Cravings:  My cafe mocha....really bad addiction.
  7. Anything making you queasy or sick? Peppers-Jeff made a hot pepper casserole the other day and the smell was in the house all night-good casserole, but all I could smell when I was sleeping was peppers.  I was not a very happy camper that night-sorry Jeff!
  8. Showing yet?  Sure am!
  9. Gender:?
  10. Mood:  Happy that I am still able to workout!  I am hoping to make this last as long as possible!
This week we had our 22 week appointment.  It went really well!  The baby's heartbeat is 158 and the doctor said everything looks great!  To celebrate we headed over to Babies R Us to start our registry.  Whoa!  We were completely overwhelmed and left with headaches!
While there, we definitely realized that we have a lot of research to do.  Do we really need 20 options for every baby item?!  Jeff is very smart.  He knew that the goofier he acted, the less likely I would take him next time (I swear he was like I was as a kid-haha).  He was a trooper though.  Of course, we had to get anything with a football on it!  Gotta love it!
Thanks for holding my jacket!

Week 21

We are at home sweet home this week!  I am happy to be enjoying the summer months right here in Buffalo.  The weather has been beautiful, and I am happy to be sleeping in my own bed!  I have been beginning to plan the nursery and trying to read up on the latest and greatest baby gadgets.  If you are baby wise and want to help, send me a comment answering the questions below...we need all the help we can get!  There are so many choices out there, and every time I go to Babies R Us, I start hyperventilating!  Aaahhhh!  Seriously...do we need this many bottle choices?!  I think we have agreed on the nursery theme (nursery page in progress-check it out).  I am happy to be back with our only "child" Eli for the time being, and he brightens my day every time I see him!  He is such a little love bug!

  3. Sleep: YES!!!!! I am back in my adjustable bed (yes, Jeff and I are old beyond our time) and I am on my fifth night of no back pain!
  4. Miss Anything? I just went by a carnival and realized that I won't be able to go on any roller coasters (not like I go on them every day otherwise, but you always want what you can't have)!
  5. Movement: Okay, I just realized that I am not supposed to be feeling the baby all day long....HELLO!  I guess that does make sense-Jeff stop laughing!  Yes, we have movement!
  6. Food Cravings:  Homemade popcorn (I make the best), Nonfat, decaf, no whip grande mocha on the rocks or warm (I am not picky).

  8. Showing yet?  Yes! I am starting to get the round ligament pains.
  9. Gender: As my friend Jess always says, "Patience is a virtue".
  10. Mood:  Appreciative, and not willing to take a single day of this adventure for granted!

Advice please!

Help!!!!
Where do we go from here?  We are just about to start our registry, and I am so confused.  There are way too many choices out there on everything.  Feel free to chime in and give some advice to us and maybe some other new moms that don't have a clue....

What is a durable, good stroller choice?

Your choice for a car seat?

Bottles?

Bouncer?

Baby musts....

                                  Waste of money....

This stuff is mind boggling.  Thanks for your input...you rock!

Week 20

We are on the last leg of our Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas WSOP vacation.  It has been a great babymoon and I was able to do a lot of R&R.  We were able to get to the pool, the spa, the gym, eat some really good food and of course watch and play a lot of poker!  We saw some really good shows...our favorite was Absinthe.  Jeff also surprised me with a helicopter ride over Las Vegas to watch the fireworks!  We had the best seat in the house!  I finally decided to play a slot machine two days before departure and actually won!  I think the baby is definitely my lucky token!  Though Jeff did not cash or win, he was able to take part in the world's biggest poker tournament (his dream).  I am so proud of him and the way he played.  No regrets!  We are looking forward to getting home and starting on all the fun stuff we get to do to prepare for lil Joseph. We have to figure out a nursery theme, shower theme, figure out what we need for a baby (this is all new to us), read up on parenting, and take some classes!  I am so lucky that Jeff is so hands on and will be right by my side for each and every step!  We are so excited!!!

Our baby is the size of a banana!
Week

  1. Maternity Clothes:  I am having one of those weeks...feeling quite huge!  The maternity clothes are out in full form!
  2. Stretch Marks:  No.
  3. Sleep: My body is definitely getting me ready for many sleepless nights to come.  I can't remember the last time I slept well without any back pain.
  4. Miss Anything?  Beer...this is the last stretch of our vacation, and it isn't getting any easier watching Jeff order local favorites.
  5. Movement: Still not constant, but it makes my day every time I feel a kick!
  6. Food Cravings:  I am ready to start cooking some "real" food when I get back home....I am so done with restaurant food.  Bey's popcorn is also sounding really good about now!
  7. Anything making you queasy or sick? No
  8. Showing yet?  Yes!  I had a girl come up to me and ask me if I was pregnant (she was brave), and it felt so good to say yes!
  9. Gender: Won't know until November, but it is getting frustrating not knowing how to decorate the nursery.  Any ideas?
  10. Mood:  Happy to be getting home and starting on the long list of things we have to get done before the baby's arrival!

Week 19

We are still in Vegas while Jeff plays in the WSOP.  We took a weekend break to the Grand Canyon...absolutely breathtaking.  I am feeling great and am loving this vacation.  I have been able to relax, workout, unwind and sleep (somewhat).  I think my body is definitely getting me ready for the baby and the lack of zzzzz's.  I can't remember the last time I had a full night's sleep.  Oh well...it is all worth it!

      tidbits....
  1. Maternity Clothes:  Yes...still fitting into my regular bathing suit....thank god!  The thought of looking for a maternity suit doesn't sit well (I can't even bare to look at myself in a regular one piece)!
  2. Stretch Marks:  No.
  3. Sleep: I am coming to the realization that sleep from here on out will never be the same-the back pain is torture!
  4. Miss Anything?  Shopping at all the fun stores in Vegas...I asked where the maternity section was at Deisel and they laughed.  At least we had fun getting Jeff some awesome jeans!
  5. Movement: The movement is happening a little more, but is still not a constant.  I can't wait for that!
  6. Food Cravings:  None...I don't know if it the Vegas heat or that my stomach is getting squeezed, but I can't eat a full meal.
  7. Anything making you queasy or sick? Eating too much at one sitting...
  8. Showing yet?  I feel like every time we go somewhere people's eyes go straight to my belly.  I think they are figuring I ate one too many tacos!
  9. Gender: Your guess is as good as mine!  I think a girl.  Jeff says boy!
  10. Mood:  Happy, happy, happy!
